ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Elegant Chekhov’s joke is fertile material for the new theatrical experiment. It’s a real vaudeville, where the director Vladimir Pankov and composer Artyom Kim combined popular romances with classical opera composition. The story of two people, between whom after a hostile clash suddenly breaks out love, poses to the audience the question of nature and sincerity of feelings. The game and the interlacing of various musical and dramatic genres reflect the capricious pulsation of their relations.

“The play is about the infinite inconsistency of a woman. When she says “no”, it doesn’t mean “no”. When she says “yes”, it does not mean “yes”. By the end of the play, there are even more mysteries. And there are no clues. Love is a game that can be played throughout life”.
Vladimir Pankov, director
