Tenor Najmiddin Mavlyanov appears on the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre

Tenor Najmiddin Mavlyanov, a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre who received the 2021 Golden Mask Award, will trice appear on the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in August.

On August 5 at the VI International Mariinsky Far East Festival, Vladivostok, Najmiddin Mavlyanov will sing the part of Calaf in the premiere of Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot staged by Charles Roubaud. Mlada Khudoley, a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre, will appear as cruel Princess Turandot; the role of the selfless slave, Liù, will be sung by Alina Mikhailik, a soloist of the Primorsky Stage.

On August 8 the audience is expected to hear Najmiddin Mavlyanov as Herman in the final event at the Mariinsky Festival – Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades classically staged by Yuri Temirkanov. The primary parts will be sung by Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar as Yeletsky and Yulia Matochkina as Polina – soloists of the Mariinsky Thatre who both were prizewinners at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, and soloists of the Primorsky Stage including Marat Mukhametzyanov as Tomsky, Irina Kolodyazhnaya as the Countess and Elena Razgulyaeva as Liza.

On August 13 Najmiddin Mavlyanov will appear as Don Carlo – it is one of his favorite roles – in Verdi’s opera of the same name.

All these events will be conducted by Pavel Smelkov, Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Najmiddin Mavlyanov graduated from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. In 2010 he became a soloist at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre. As a guest soloist he appears on the stage of the Mariinsky Thatre, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, the Finnish National Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, and the Mikhailovsky Theatre.

In 2010 Najmiddin Mavlyanov was awarded the opera prize Casta Diva in the nominated category “Singer of the Year”. In 2021 he was given the Russian national award Golden Mask for the role of Sadko at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
