Pianist Sergei Redkin Opens the Symphonic Program at the VI International Mariinsky Far East Festival, Vladivostok

Sergei Redkin, a rising star of world piano performance art and a prizewinner at prestigious competitions, will twice appear on the Primorsky Stage at the Mariinsky Festival.

On July 31, 2021 the pianist will solo in the Piano Concerto No. 17 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at “Mozart. Schubert” Symphony Concert given in the Great Hall. Pavel Smelkov, Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, will hold the baton. The program of the Symphony Concert will also include the Symphony No. 5 by Franz Schubert and the motet Exsultate, Jubilate by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in which Albina Shagimuratova, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, a famous coloratura soprano, is to sing the soprano part.

On August 3, 2021 Sergei Redkin will give a recital in the Great Hall of the Primorsky Stage. He will perform some piano compositions by Franz Schubert and Alexander Scriabin.

Sergei Redkin as a pianist trained in Saint Petersburg, is well known to the Primorsky Stage audience. He has often appeared with symphonic, chamber and solo programs in Vladivostok. Sergei Redkin regularly tours throughout Russia and abroad – throughout Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Monaco, Poland, Israel, the USA and Mexico. He has been a prizewinner at numerous international competitions. In 2015 he won the Third Prize and the Bronze Medal at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. In 2021 Sergei Redkin became a Second Prize winner at another major international competition – the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in Brussels.
