The Ballet Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre is a unique international team, comprising dancers from Russia, Ukraine, Kirgizia, Moldova, Japan, Brazil, the USA, Great Britain, Italy and Spain. The company’s soloists and artists are diploma-recipients and prize-winners at various international competitions, as well as grant-recipients of major foundations.
The Company’s core repertoire is built around performances of the classical heritage, including Swan Lake and The Nutcracker by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Giselle and Le Corsaire by Adolphe Adam. The 20th century choreography is represented by Eldar Aliev’s production of The Firebird, George Balanchine’s ballets Apollo, Scottish Symphony, Prodigal Son and Serenade, as well as by Alberto Alonso’s legendary production of Carmen Suite.
The Ballet Company of the Primorsky Stage has toured throughout Russia and internationally. In the 2017/18 season, as part of the II International Mariinsky Far East Festival, the Company performed in Harbin (China), Seoul (South Korea) and at the Historic Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.
