The Ballet Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre is a unique international team, comprising dancers from Russia, Europe, Asia and America. The company’s soloists and artists are diploma-recipients and prize-winners at various international competitions, as well as grant-recipients of major foundations.
The Ballet Company’s repertoire is based on the classical heritage: Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Giselle and Le Corsaire by Adolphe Adam, Don Quixote and La Bayadère by Ludwig Minkus.
The 20th century choreography is represented by ballets by Eldar Aliev (The Nutcracker, The Firebird, A Thousand and One Nights), George Balanchine (Apollo, Scotch Symphony, The Prodigal Son, Serenade), Roland Petit (Le Jeune homme et la mort), Flemming Flindt (Phaedra), Alberto Alonso (Carmen Suite), Dmitry Pimonov (Daphnis et Chloé, Visions fugitives).
The Ballet Company of the Primorsky Stage tours Russia and foreign countries. The Company annually appears on the Historical and New Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg. It has presented its performances in Moscow, Kazan, Vladikavkaz, Harbin (People’s Republic of China), Seoul (South Korea) and Doha (Qatar).
The Ballet Artistic Director is Eldar Aliev, Honored Artistic Creator of Russia.
