Lada Sartakova and Denis Klepikov, first soloists of the Ballet Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, have been selected for the Competition though the entry list included 120 applicants from 23 Russian cities. Now they appear on the stage of the Erik Sapaev Mari State Opera and Ballet Theatre as participants in the All-Russian Competition of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers.
The All-Russian Competition of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers is held in Yoshkar-Ola from April 19 to April 26, 2025. This year the artists will demonstrate their skills in the nomination “Classical dance”. The young dancers from Vladivostok will perform Pas de Deux from The Nutcracker and Pas d’Esclave from Le Corsaire choreographed by Eldar Aliev, and the contemporary choreographic piece QuintAv to music from Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2, which was choreographed by Vladislav Rzhevsky, a dancer of the Ballet Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
The All-Russian Competition of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers is held at the Erik Sapaev Mari State Opera and Ballet Theatre and dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of Miсhael Fokine, an outstanding Russian ballet dancer, choreographer and educator. Prof. Yury Grigorovich, People’s Artist of the USSR, a ballet master of the Bolshoi Theatre, is the Artistic Director of the Competition. The Competition is aimed to preserve the high traditions of academism and the vast heritage of classic ballet. It offers prizewinners an opportunity to take part in the International Ballet Competition in Moscow with no preliminary selection.
