Dmitry Demidchik, a prize-winner at international competitions, appears at the Primorsky Stage

On May 22, 2022, tenor Dmitry Demidchik, Diploma-recipient and special prize-winner at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition, will appear at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

On May 22, 2022, the singer will perform the role of Herman, one of the best-known and most difficult tenor roles, in the classic Russian opera The Queen of Spades by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Soloists of the Primorsky Stage such as Marat Mukhametzyanov as Count Tomsky, Alexei Bublik as Prince Yeletsky, Irina Kolodyazhnaya as the Countess, Elena Razgulyaeva as Liza, and Tatiana Makarchuk as Polina will be his companions on the stage. The Orchestra will be under the baton of Pavel Smelkov, Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage.

Dmitry Demidchik is also a prizewinner at the International Stanisław Moniuszko Competition (Minsk, 2002), the International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition (Saint Petersburg, 2008), the XVIII Festival and Competition of Graduate Vocalists of Higher Music Institutions of Russia (Kazan, 2010), and the I All-Russian Young Vocalists’ Competition The Future of Musical Theatre (Omsk, 2012).

In 2003 Dmitry Demidchik completed his studies at the Ogiński School of Music. In 2010 he graduated from the Saint Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire. While still a student at the Saint Petersburg Conservatoire he took part in master classes given by such most acclaimed and loved artists as Vladimir Atlantov, Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, Vladimir Chernov, Larisa Gergieva, Elena Obraztsova and Gegam Grigorian.

Dmitry Demidchik has appeared with the Mariinsky Theatre on tour in Finland, France, Spain, the USA, and Japan.
