Beethoven – 250 concert cycle at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre

As part of Ludwig van Beethoven’s jubilee celebrations, the grand cycle of symphonic and chamber concerts continues at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in February and March.

On February 16 at 17:00 the second concert from the Beethoven – 250 cycle will take place in the Great Hall. Nikolai Mazhara, a pianist from Saint Petersburg and a prizewinner at international competitions, will perform as a soloist for Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. The audience will also hear Symphony No. 1 and Symphony No. 5 by the greatest German composer. The Orchestra will be under the baton of Pavel Smelkov, a Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage.

On February 23 at 17:00 the Beethoven – 250. Sonata Night chamber concert will be given in the Chamber Hall. The piano part will be played by Nikolai Mazhara, the violin part – by Aleksey Maslov, the cello part – by Yelizaveta Sushchenko. The concert program includes Piano Sonata No. 8, Violin Sonata No. 8, Cello Sonata No. 4, and Piano Trio No. 3. The announcer is to be Yelizaveta Sushchenko.

On March 15 at 17:00 the Beethoven – 250 symphonic concert will take place in the Great Hall. The program includes Symphony No. 2 and Symphony No. 3. The baton is to be held by Pavel Smelkov.
