Aigul Khismatullina, soloist of the opera company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, won the First Prize at the prestigious Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition held annually at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.
Aigul Khismatullina holds a degree from the Kazan State Conservatory. Since April 2016 she has been a soloist of the Mariinsky Opera of the Primorsky Stage. The audience appreciated the singer’s rarely beautiful timbre and technically impeccable coloratura soprano in the roles of Gilda (Rigoletto, Guiseppe Verdi) and Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), as well as in concert and chamber programs.
Since September 2017 Aigul Khismatullina has been a participant of the international educational project The Atkins Young Artists Program (based at the Mariinsky Theatre). Throughout 2018 the artist made her successful debut on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in the lead roles of the Igor Stravinsky’s Le rossignol, Guiseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto, Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Guiseppe Verdi’s Falstaff, Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.
