On August 3, 2018 at 07:00 p.m., within the framework of the III International Mariinsky Far East Festival, Vladivostok, a solo concert of bass-baritone Shenyang will take place. The extensive repertoire of the singer encompasses both operatic roles and vocal, symphonic and chamber works. The soloist performs at the world’s leading theatres and collaborates with renowned conductors.
Upon completion of the III International Mariinsky Far East Festival, Vladivostok, the Primorsky Stage will welcome the National Ballet of China. On August 11, 2018 at 07:00 p.m. and on August 12, 2018 at 05:00 p.m. the troupe will present Natalia Makarova’s production of La Bayadère ballet to the music of Ludwig Minkus, based on the original choreography by Marius Petipa, and later choreography by Vakhtang Chabukiani. Liu Ju will take the conductor’s panel.
This will be the second visit of the troupe to Vladivostok. The II International Mariinsky Far East Festival saw two gala shows of the National Ballet of China under the baton of conductor Zhang Yi.
The National Ballet of China was founded in 1959. The repertoire of the troupe includes both classical and original ballets. Dancers, choreographers, musicians and artists of the theatre have won numerous awards of the top international dance contests.
