For the first time in Vladivostok, Olga Piccolo’s cycle of performances Music Told in Tales of Sand for children from 3 to 15 will be presented as part of the new project Valery Gergiev for Children. The first concert-performance from this series — Meet the Little Prince will take place at the Chamber Hall of the Primorsky Stage on March 4.
This multi-genre performance, based on the celebrated fairy-tale novella by Antoine Saint-Exupery, is an amazing combination of the fairy-tale told by the storyteller, live music and sand pictures created by the sand animator before the very eyes of the audience. The fairy-tales will be narrated by Olga Piccolo, script author, music psychologist and musicologist, and drawn by Oxana Kalinko, an artist with the sand animation studio. Live music will be provided by soloists of the Mariinsky Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage.
Next performances from the cycle Music Told in Tales of Sand will be given at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in April: young theatre-goers will see the concert-performance Silence within Silence, or The Hedgehog in the Mist (April 21 at 12:00 and 15:00) and the fairy-tale journey The Blue Bird (April 22 at 12:00 and 14:00).
It is expected that seven various programmes for children aged 3-5 will have been presented under the project at the Chamber Hall till the end of the season.
