Violinist – Winner at the Tchaikovsky Competition to Perform at the International Mariinsky Far East Festival

Talented prize-winning musician — Clara-Jumi Kang (July 27, the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic Hall) have become participants of the II International Mariinsky Far East Festival in Vladivostok.

It is the second time that Clara-Jumi Kang will perform in Vladivostok. Last year the musician enthralled the audience by their performance of works by Russian and foreign composers at the First International Mariinsky Festival.

Clara-Jumi Kang is a German violinist of Korean origin who at an early age was already famous as a musical wunderkind: she has been performing with celebrated orchestras since she was five, at the age of six she was featured on the cover of German magazine Die Zei and several years later she recorded her first CD for the TELDEC label. Having studied such renowned violinists as Zakhar Bron and Dorothy DeLay, she went on to win top prizes at serious international competitions in Seoul, Sendai and Indianapolis, toured around the world, concluded a contract with the DECCA Label for the release of her albums. In 2015 the violinist became a sensation of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition. According to the Jury, she was the brightest contestant in her category. “Clara has a mystical sort of talent, something that makes her different from others. Her playing is unique because of its amazing poetry and shocking fervour.” described the young musician Vladimir Spivakov.
