A Meet-the-Artist Evening with Vladimir Galouzine to Take Place at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre

On 11 February, the Chamber Hall of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will host a unique event - a meeting of the People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Galouzine with his Primorsky fans.

Vladimir Galouzine, a Mariinsky Theatre soloist, is one of the world’s leading dramatic tenors, famed for his stunning voice and compelling stage presence. Being a frequent performer at the world’s top operatic venues, the artist rarely gives interviews and almost never speaks to the press. In February, the Far East audience has an unprecedented chance to meet with the singer, ask him questions about his his creative activities, future projects and, of course, about the upcoming premiere of Sergei Prokofiev’s opera The Gambler, which is to take place at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre on 9 and 12 February, and where Vladimir Galouzine will be performing his landmark role of the reckless gambler Alexei.

The outstanding tenor will be introduced to Primorsky theatre-goers by the head of the Primorsky Stage Opera Company Larisa Diadkova. The meeting will also feature the singer’s wife - Nataliya Tymchenko, who has already appeared onstage in Vladivostok as Tatyana in Evgeny Onegin and Nedda in Pagliacci. During her visit to the Primorye capital, Nataliya Tymchenko is also to perform the part of Alexei’s sweetheart Pauline in Prokofiev’s The Gambler on 9 and 12 February.
