On the 11th of September there will be an award ceremony held for winners of the regional round of the national competition of the Russian Event Awards in the Siberian and the Far East Federal Districts.The Grand-Prix for the Best Cultural Tourist Event was awarded to the International Mariinsky Far East Festival that took place from July 30 to August 10 in Vladivostok.
Over twelve days the festival successfully presented twenty seven concert and shows in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk and even in the water basin of the Amur Bay on the deck of the missile cruiser Varyag. Outstanding performers from Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Greece, and Puerto Rico participated in the festival as well as leading opera singers and ballet dancers, the choir and the symphony orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre under artistic leadership of Maestro Valery Gergiev, and the choir, soloists of the opera and ballet company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. Over twenty thousand people from Russia, Europe and America attended the festival. The audience of many millions of the Culture Channel watched broadcast concerts of the 1st International Mariinsky Far East Festival from Vladivostok.
Best projects of the Regional Russian Event Awards Competition will participate in the final round which will be held from October 13 to October 15 in Yaroslavl.
