  • Prize-winner at the Galina Vishnevskaya International Opera Singer’s Competition (Moscow, 2016, 1st prize)

Otar Jorjikia graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 2013 (class of Nodar Andguladze). In Conservatoire opera studio he sang Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Alfredo (La Traviata), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Lenski (Eugene Onegin). In 2011 he became a prize-winner at the Lado Antаneli Vocal Competition in Tbilisi, after what attended master-classes in Switzerland and in Italy.

Since 2013 he has become a soloist of the Georgian National Opera Theater, where he debuted as Don Alvaro in Verdi’s La Forza del Destino.

Otar Jorjikia made his Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2016 as Gabriele Adorno in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra with Placido Domingo under Valery Gergiev.

In the 2016/17 season he trained in Zurich’s International Opera Studio where he sung Gustavo III (Un ballo in maschera), Malcolm (Macbeth), solo tenor in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem. In the same season he made his debut ath the Bolshoi Theatre (La traviata, conducted by Tugan Sokhiev).

As a guest soloist he has appeared at the Polish National Opera (Duke in Rigoletto), Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Rodolfo in La bohème and Alfredo in La traviata) and Opera Australia (Don José in Carmen).
