Alexander Gergalov graduated from the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 1982 (class of Professor N.A. Serval).
Joined the Mariinsky Opera Company in 1991.

Alexander Gergalov has toured with the Mariinsky Opera Company to Spain, Italy, the USA (Metropolitan Opera), Japan and the UK. At the Graz Music Festival (Austria) he performed as Yeletsky in the Queen of Spades. He has performed in France, Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Finland, Portugal and Turkey.
The singer’s recordings include the operas War and Peace, The Queen of Spades, Sadko, Betrothal in a Monastery and Kashei the Immortal (Philips Classics) and a CD of songs and romances by Mily Balakirev (DML Classics).
