Yuri Ozhegov

Yuri Ozhegov was born in Moscow. He graduated from the Tchaikovsky Academic Music College at the Moscow State Conservatory (class of Yulia Konstantinovna Tamanova) and then the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of Prof. Yuri Adalbertovich Tkanov, Honored Artist of Russia).

From 2009 to 2013 Yuri Ozhegov served as a musician of the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. From 2013 to 2019 he attended courses under Prof. Yuri Borisovich Gandelsman in the USA. From 2013 to 2019 he was the Principal Viola at the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra, Michigan. Yuri Ozhegov has also been one of the founders and members of Iberis String Quartet. He has taken part in master classes given by Danilo Rossi, Johnny Gandelsman and Richard Young.

Since 2019 Yuri Ozhegov has been the Principal Viola and the leader of the viola section of the Mariinsky Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage.
