Pyotr Bulatov has been taught at the Nizhny Tagil College of Arts (class of A.P. Bulatov, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation) and the Urals Mussorgsky State Conservatoire (class of Professor V.P. Kudinov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation). From 2008 to 2011 he performed with the Ural Youth Symphony Orchestra. From 2012 to 2014 he was a member of the Omsk Symphony Orchestra.
From 2014 to 2015 Pyotr Bulatov worked with the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre Symphony Orchestra. Since 2016 he has been a member of the Mariinsky Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage, and since September 2021 he has been its Principal Oboe and the leader of the oboe section.
