Dmitry Masleev received the 1st prize and Gold Medal at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition (2015). In describing his style, critics have noted the accuracy of his performance, the impeccable technique and good sense of form (Nevskoye Vremya), his possession of all piano techniques (Rossiyskaya Gazeta) and the brilliance, lyricism, confidence and spontaneity of his style (Kommersant). According to the reviewer of the Nevskoye Vremya, “the panel’s decisions were unanimously approved. It could hardly have been possible to make a more accurate and fair choice.”
Masleev is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatoire (class of Mikhail Petukhov). While still a student he won numerous international competitions, among them the Chopin Competition (2011). There the pianist won the main prize – a grand piano. The competition also awarded him a tour schedule taking him to various cities in Italy.
The musician has performed in towns and cities throughout Russia, France, Romania and Germany. In the 2014-2015 season he trained at the International Piano Academy Lake Como (Italy). In the near future, he is scheduled to tour in Japan in addition to an appearance at the Rotterdam Festival (conducted by Valery Gergiev).
