Andrei Telkov was born in Voronezh. In 1998 he entered the Voronezh Music College (class of Larisa Bich). In 2005 entered the High Specialized Music School of the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg Conservatory (class of Vladimir Suslov). In 2009 he became a student (class of the the Honoured Artist of Russia, Professor Alexander Sandler) and in 2014 - a post-graduate student of the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory.
In 2009, during the International Academy of Chamber Music in Frenswegen (Germany) attended master classes by Eberhard Feltz, Richard Young, Tim Vogler and Hans Klaus. He also participated in master classes by William Grant Naboré, Nikolai Petrov, Andrei Diev.
Andrei Telkov is a prize-winner at the International Charles Hennen Chamber Ensembles Competition (Special Prize, Netherlands, 2006), the International F. Chopin Piano Competition (2nd Prize, Estonia, 2008), a diploma-recipient at the International R. Schumann Competition (Germany, 2012), a recipient of the Grand-Prix at the International J. Vītols Piano Competition (Latvia, 2013).
He is also a multiple recipient of the title “The best violin leader” awarded at various international competitions, such as the All-Russian Music Competition (2014), the International E.A. Mravinsky Competition (St. Petersburg, 2014-2016), the International S.N. Knushevetsky Competition (Saratov, 2014).
Frequently performs in concert in Russia and in European countries. Since 2011, he has regularly appeared in concert programmes of the St Petersburg House of Music.
