ALEXANDER MALOFEYEV


Piano

Alexander Malofeev was born in Moscow in 2001. He is a student at the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow (piano class of Elena Beryozkina). He has performed at the Great, Small and Rachmaninoff Halls of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre, the Moscow International House of Music, the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre, the Grand Kremlin Palace, the Hall of Columns of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, the Kaufman Music Center in New York and UNESCO headquarters in Paris. He has given concerts in Russia, Azerbaijan, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain and the USA.

As a soloist he has collaborated with the Mariinsky Orchestra (conducted by Valery Gergiev), the Bolshoi Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Kazuki Yamada), the Russian National Orchestra (conducted by Dmitry Liss), the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra (conducted by Vladimir Spivakov), the New Russia State Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Yuri Tkachenko), the State Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Stanislav Kochanovsky) and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia (conducted by Alexander Soloviev).

In July 2014 Alexander Malofeyev won 1st prize and the Gold Medal at the VIII International Tchaikovsky Youth Competition in Moscow.

The pianist has also been a prize-winner at numerous other international competitions and festivals, among them the I Moscow International Krainev Piano Competition (2015), the IX International Rachmaninoff Young Pianists’ Competition (Novgorod; Grand Prix and Special Award for the best performance of works by Bach, 2014), the Musical Diamond international competition (Moscow; Grand Prix, 2011 and 2014), the All-Russian competition Young Talents of Russia (2013), the I International Young Pianists’ Competition Astana Piano Passion (1st prize, 2013), the Stairway to the Stars international festival and competition in Moscow (Gran Prix, 2013), the Moscow Stars arts festival (2013), the XI Youth Delphic Games of Russia (2012, 2015), the Artobolevskaya Little Pianist festival (Grand Prix, 2012), the Mozart-Wunderkind international competition (Austria, Grand Prix, 2011), the international Internet Music Competition (Serbia, 1st prize, 2011) and the Х Moscow young pianists’ competition Steps to Mastery (2011). Malofeyev has, moreover, won the IV New Names of Moscow children’s arts festival (2011) and been awarded the Public Recognition Award (Moscow, 2012). He is a winner of the Gran Prix at the First International Grand Piano Competition (Moscow, 2016).

Took part in the festivals in La Roque d’Anthéron, Mikkeli, Sintra, Annecy, Denis Matsuev’s Orenburg Seasons, Stars of the White Nights, Crescendo, Stars on Baikal, Peregrinos Musicais and Moscow Greets its Friends.

Alexander Malofeev is a grant-recipient of the New Names Foundation, the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation and the Moscow City Government.
