Yuta Shimizu was born, grew up and studied in Tokyo: at first at the Toho Gakuen Music School (2004, the conducting course, Prof. M. Okabe), then at the Tokyo Music College (2009, the Orchestral Conducting Department, Prof. J. Hirokami).
In Russia, he graduated from the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg Conservatory with specialization in symphonic and opera conducting (Class of professor Nikolay Alexeev). Yuta Shimizu attended international master-classes of Kurt Mazur (Sweden), Yuri Simonov (with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow), Neeme Järvi and Gennady Rozhdestvensky (Switzerland), Jorma Panula (with the Romanian Royal Camerata, Bucharest), Yuji Yausa (Tokyo).
Conducted G. Verdi’s La Traviata at the St Petersburg Opera and Ballet Theatre (2013, 2014). Laureate of the V International Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales (Bucharest, 2014). Conducted the Moscow Oblast Philharmonic Orchestra (the Moscow House of Music, 2016), the Tokyo New City Orchestra (Tokyo, 2015), the Classic FM Radio Orchestra (Sofia, Bulgaria), the St Petersburg Chamber Orchestra Carpe Diem, Romanian Royal Camerata, the G. Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania), the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra.
