Arseny Shuplyakov was born in Leningrad. He graduated from the St Petersburg Conservatory (percussion class of Sergei Antoshkin, conducting class of Vladimir Altschuler).
Since 2016 he has been a conductor of the Mariinsky Stage Wind Band and guest conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre. As a conductor he has performed with the Mariinsky Orchestra, the St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre’s branch in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. In 2019, he conducted the orchestra during the final round of the International Tchaikovsky Competition (brass category).
At his initiative the Mariinsky Wind Ensemble was created in 2017.
He was stage director and conductor of Pulcinella (2018) and Jeu de cartes (2019), both choreographed by Ilya Zhivoi, of Violent Dances (2020) choreographed by Vladimir Varnava, Twelve (2022) choreographed by Alexander Sergeev, La Fille du Pharaon choreographed by Marius Petipa restored by Toni Candeloro, Anyuta choreographed by Vladimir Vasiliev (both 2023), Danses concertantes and Coppélia (2024), both choreographed by Alexander Sergeev.
In 2018 he was stage director and conductor of Pulcinella, in 2019 of Jeu de cartes, both choreographed by Ilya Zhivoi, in 2020 of Violent Dances choreographed by Vladimir Varnava, and in 2023 of La Fille du Pharaon choreographed by Marius Petipa restored by Toni Candeloro and of Anyuta choreographed by Vladimir Vasiliev.

His video recordings with the Mariinsky Ballet include Don Quixote (for Mezzo) and Shurale. He also collaborates with Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and conducts its final graduation performances at the Mariinsky. In October 2023 he lead the largest largest tour to China in the history of the Mariinsky Ballet.
