Christoph Stöcker studied church music and conducting/orchestra leading, among other places, in Bayreuth and Würzburg. He started as a solo tutor at the Mecklenburg State Theatre of Schwerin, the Städtische Bühnen Theatre in Münster and at the Hamburg State Opera.
He conducted operas, operettas and musicals, as well as concerts. He worked as a musical assistant, among other places, in the opera houses of Berlin (State Opera), Kassel, Geneva, Palermo, Verona, Rome, Paris and Barcelona, as well as at the music festivals Innsbruck Festival and Kissinger Sommer, and since 2006 he has regularly taken part in the Bayreuth Festival.
Since 2009, he was the music director of the international opera studio at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf/Duisburg opera house. And since 2014, he has been working there as an orchestra conductor.
