Olga Kitaeva


Choreographer

Olga Kitaeva was born in Krasnoyarsk. In 2015 she graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (the chair of stage direction, class of the Honoured Worker of Arts of the RF, Professor A.M. Polubentsev).

She studied under such teachers as E.A. Sherstneva (character dance, acting), M.B. Sinkina (classic ballet heritage), N.S. Yananis (classical dance, historical folk dance), F.B. Lopukhov (character dance), Y.N .Petukhov (duet dance), A.P .Bosov (duet, classical dance). Olga attended master-classes by Natalia Kasparova, Anna Ozerskaya, Noah Wertheim, Rina Wertheim-Koren, Vladimir Zak in contemporary dance techniques, classical dance, jazz-dance, partnering, improvisation.

Olga Kitaeva was a holder of ArtUniversity scholarship for participation in the IUGTE Lab guided by Sergei Ostrenko (Austria, 2014).

In 2012–2013 Olga taught classical and contemporary dance in the children’s studio (director — A. Udalova) of the St Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy.

Since 2014 she has been a tutor and a choreographer of the Opera Company of the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre.

In 2016–2017 Olga Kitaeva had been working as a choreographer with the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Olga Kitaeva’s choreographic works include the following performances:
2012 — opera Il matrimonio segreto (The Secret Marriage) by D.Cimarosa (The Opera and Ballet Theatre of the N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg Conservatory); the performance became a laureate of the St Petersburg Government Award for Achievements in Music and Stage Art;
2012 — musical The Bluebird by A.Petrov and O. Petrova (the Children’s Studio of the St Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy);
2013 — opera Hänsel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck (The Mikhailovsky Theatre, St Petersburg);
2014 — opera Carmen by G. Bizet, opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan (The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre);
2014 — symphonic fairy-tale Peter and Wolf by S. Prokofiev (The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre);
2014 — opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan by N.Rimsky-Korsakov (The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre);
2015 — opera The Story of a Real Man by S. Prokofiev, opera Mazepa by P. Tchaikovsky (The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre);
2015 — opera Mazepa by P. Tchaikovsky (The State Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre); 2015 — musical drama L'Histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) by I. Stravinsky (The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre);
2015 — musical drama Izba (wooden house), Funny Rhymes to music by I. Stravinsky (The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre);
2015 — musical drama Peer Gynt to music by E. Grieg (The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre); 2016 — musical fairy tale Visiting Sergey Prokofiev (The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre);
2016 — musical fairy tale Visiting Sergey Prokofiev (The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre);
2016 — opera Bastien und Bastienne by W.A. Mozart (the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre).

Olga Kitaeva had worked as a ballet master and tutor at the performances Carmen, Eugene Onegin, The Tale of Tzar Saltan, The Queen of Spades, La Traviata, Die Zauberflöte (The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre).
