The Krasnoyarsk Municipal Choral Ensemble of Soloists Tebe Poem

The Krasnoyarsk Municipal Choral Ensemble of Soloists Tebe Poem was established in 1991 by its founder and leader – the Honoured Artist of Russia, Professor, Rector of the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts, Konstantin Yakobson. The Ensemble can equally well perform chamber programmes, major cantatas and oratorios. The Ensemble’s repertoire includes works by Russian and West-European composers in the genres of folk, church and opera music. A special area of creative activities is choral theatre, where a distinctive manner of singing and a unique timbre of each member of the ensemble fuse with an action, choreography and the mastery of stage performance. The Ensemble has travelled extensively with performances both in Russia and abroad and it has already introduced the Russian choral culture to audiences in France, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Argentina, Yugoslavia, America, Poland, Serbia and Mexico. In 2006, during its international tour, the Ensemble gave a solo recital at the UN Headquarters; in September 2012, it presented a solo programme on stage of the Great Concert Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory; in 2015, the Ensemble performed Rodion Shchedrin’s choral opera The Life and Sufferings of Boyarina Morozova and Her Sister Princess Urusova as part of the Open Festival Dedicated to the Victory Day… (The War Doesn’t Have a Female Face). In 2017, the Ensemble won the First Prize at the XXXVI International Festival of Orthodox Church Music Hajnówka in Białystok (Poland). Tebe Poem has released several CD with both folk and classical music. Also, the Ensemble is a permanent participant of various Russian and international festivals.
