Ao Dingwen graduated from Ballet Dance School Affiliated to Liaoning Ballet, where now works as principal dancer. Her lead role appearances in classical repertoire include The Nutcracker, Spartacus, Le Corsaire, Swan Lake and Don Quixote, Chinese original ballet works The Moonlight over the Erquan Pond, Eight Heroines, The Liao River Lullaby and many other dance dramas.
