Nagahashi Ayumi


Ballerina of the Tani Momoko Ballet Company

Ayumi Nagahashi studied ballet with Yumi Nagahashi, Reiko Yamamoto, Michiko Nomura and others. In 1999, she joined the Tani Momoko Ballet Company. In 2002, she made her debut as Odette-Odile in Swan Lake and, further, performed a number of leading roles in classical ballets, including Giselle, Don Quixote, La Bayadère, Lizette (La Fille mal gardée), Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, The Sleeping Beauty and many others. In 2001, Ayumi became the winner of the 58th All-Japan Ballet Competition (2nd Prize) and the 14th Ballet Competition in Kobe (3rd Prize). In 2004, she was invited to perform in Giselle at the Romanian National Opera. In 2012, she underwent training with the Dresden Semperoper Ballet. Ayumi Nagahashi is a recipient of a number of prizes including Akiko Tachibana Prize (2000) and Einosuke Nakagawa Prize (2010). Ayumi combines her performing activities with working as the teacher in the Private Conservatory Sendzoku Gakuen.
