Sato Marika


Ballerina of Tani Momoko Ballet Company

In 1990, Sato Marika has begun to learn ballet at Fumiko Takahashi Ballet Studio. In 2004, she studied in Goh Ballet Academy (Canada), and since 2005, she became the scholar of this academy. In 2008, Sato Marika has taken part in the Professional Theatrical Program organized by the Banff Center (Canada) within which she performed George Balanchine’s dance numbers. Then she has come to the Irish Ballet Company.

In 2003, Sato Marika has won the 1st prizes both in category of the classical ballet, and in category of the modern ballet at the Ballet Competition in Yokohama.

In 2009, Sato Marika has joined Tani Momoko Ballet Company. In 2012, for the first time she played a leading role in Cinderella. Then she played the leading roles in a number of performances, including Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Le Corsaire (staged by Eldar Aliev), Sleeping Beauty (staged by Eldar Aliev) and others.

In parallel with work as the ballet dancer, she conducts pedagogical activity as the teacher of the ballet at Senzoku Gakuen Music school.
