Born in Ussuriysk into a family of musicians, Evgeny Kanevsky has studied since childhood with his mother, a choral director. In 2001 he entered the Vladivostok Musical College. In 2003 he was educated at the Novosibirsk Musical College (class of E.I. Serebryannikov). In 2004 Evgeny Kanevsky returned to the Vladivostok Musical College (class of V.Yu. Sidorov). In 2012 he graduated from the Far Eastern State Academy of Arts (class of V.G. Bukach). Evgeny Kanevsky has been a regular participant in the Jazz International Festival in Vladivostok.
He has been engaged by the Primorsky Regional College of Culture in Ussuriysk as a teacher and accompanist, and by the Suvorov Military School as a member of the orchestra.
Since July 2022 Evgeny Kanevsky has been a ballet accompanist of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
