Alexei Kostyuk was born in Leningrad. In 2012 he graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Elena Oparina).

Alexei Kostyuk’s opera debut took place in 2009 on the main stage of the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory Theater of Opera and Ballet, where he performed the part of Triquet (Eugene Onegin, P. Tchaikovsky). On the same stage, year later Alexei Kostyuk debuted as Lensky in Alexei Stepanyuk production.

In the 2012/13 season Alexei Kostyuk was a soloist of the St Petersburg Chamber Opera and the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers (class of Alexei Steblianko).

He became a soloist of Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2013. Since 2016 Alexei Kostyuk has been a member of the Opera Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

In May 2019, he participated in the tour performances of the Tsar's Bride opera by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov directed by Vyacheslav Starodubtsev in the Zaryadye concert hall (Moscow) and in the Mariinsky-2 (St Petersburg).

In September 2023, Alexei Kostyuk conducted master classes in Managua and León, Nicaragua.

In November 2023, on the Historical Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, he performed the part of Canio in Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci being part of the IX Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum. In December 2023, he appeared on the stage of the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre in the opera The Story of a Real Man by Sergei Prokofiev.
