Anzhela Shagarova

• Grand Prix winner at the International Festival Competition “Talendid Tallinnas Sõpruskond” (Estonia, 2013)
• First Prize winner at the International Festival Competition “Tanysu” in the Best Academic Vocal Performance nomination (Almaty, 2017)
• Special Prize winner – an invitee to the International Competition for Young Singers “Premio Spiros Argiris” (Sarzana, Italy)
• Special Prize winner and Diploma recipient for the best performance of a classical romance from Bibigul Tulegenova’s repertoire at the VI International Opera Singers Contest of Bibigul Tulegenova (Almaty, 2012)

Anzhela Shagarova graduated from the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, majoring in Academic Singing (class of Asst. Prof. Valentina Georgievna Shaplyko), in 2011. In 2016 she completed her master studies at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory with a master’s degree in Arts.

She perfected herself in masterly performance at the master class given by the world-famous opera singer Sumi Jo in Almaty in 2014 and at the International Creative Laboratory of Leading Vocalists under Larisa Gergieva and Anatoly Naumenko in Lipetsk in 2016. In 2017 she was a trainee at the Academy of Young Opera Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg and took part in the IV Minsk International Christmas Vocal Competition.

Since 2019 she has been a soloist at the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Since July 2026 Anzhela Shagarova has been a soloist of the Opera Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
