Three bright concerts in a row will take place in August in the Great and Chamber Halls of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

On August 10, 2024, the audience will get a chance to enjoy popular and rarely performed works by foreign and Russian classics at the Chamber music evening. The programme includes masterpieces by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, César Cui, Dmitri Shostakovich, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Fritz Kreisler and Niccolò Paganini. The soloists will be the members of the Mariinsky Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage Elizaveta Sushchenko (cello), Alexander Piyaltsev (flute) and Andrei Ivanov (piano), as well as the guest musician Ilya Kozlov (violin, St Petersburg), a prize-winner at international competitions, the first violin of the oldest chamber ensemble in Russia, the Taneyev Quartet.

On August 11, 2024, the sound of the violin will adorn the Great Hall of the Theatre in the programme of the grand Symphony concert. Ballads by Anton Stepanovich Arensky The Wolves, The Minstrel and The Cup will come as a valuable gift for the audience. Those will be performed by the opera soloists Laura Bustamante (mezzo-soprano), Marat Mukhametzyanov (baritone) and Yevgeny Plekhanov (bass). The programme will also include one of the most popular works by Alexander Glazunov, the Concerto in A minor for violin and orchestra, and the Fifth Symphony by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, where the composer gives a new interpretation to his favorite theme of “man and fate”. The violin solo will be performed by guest musician Ilya Kozlov.

The final concert of the summer will take place on August 25, 2024. The audience will be treated to an exquisite symphonic programme: the Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano by Ludwig van Beethoven and the “Scottish” Symphony by Felix Mendelssohn. The soloists will be Emil Yakovlev (violin), Elizaveta Sushchenko (cello), and Andrei Ivanov (piano).
