The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre continues its series of projects for kids and teenagers and invites upper-form students from Vladivostok and other cities and towns of Primorsky Region to Theatre Classes. Engaged skilled teachers will lead the schoolchildren into the intriguing world of modern musical theatre, to show its internal structure and the variety of theatrical professions.
Theatre Classes will come as part of a series of educational projects of the Mariinsky Theatre, which includes educational programs for children and youth audiences. The project is aimed at propagation of literacy in the field of classical art. This three-hour program will include a tour of the Theatre, a lecture about the performance, a creative assignment and a coffee break. During the class, the upper-formers will see the backstage of the Theatre: the costume and scenery workshops, rehearsal rooms, stage machinery and the Stage Director’s console. Then they will try on the roles of set designers and lighting designers and create their own performance layout. The eventful program will be completed with visiting and enjoying one of the performances of the Primorsky Stage.
Groups of schoolchildren from 20 to 30 persons aged 12 to 18 are invited to participate in the project. For all questions regarding the Theatre Classes, please contact visit_pmt@mariinsky.ru.
