On October 19, 2023, the Far East audience will be able to enjoy Sergei Rachmaninoff’s well-known compositions to be performed by Stanislav Korchagin, a young talented pianist, prize-winner at the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition, and by the National Symphonic Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the baton of Dmitry Kryukov.
The concert will be arranged as part of the Music Marathon “My Rachmaninoff”, which is a national cultural project dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the great composer’s birth. Within the year, ten leading musical ensembles and eighteen soloists and conductors are to give 25 concerts in all federal districts of Russia.
The musical challenge will be taken up by Vladivostok in October. The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will present the Concerto No. 2 for piano and orchestra, the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and the orchestral suite Symphonic Dances.
The pianist Stanislav Korchagin, Third Prize and Bronze Medal winner at the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition, will appear as a soloist. The gifted musician is a prize-winner at the IV All-Russian Piano Competition and the International Piano Competition “A. Scriabin” in Grosseto. In 2011 Stanislav Korchagin took part in the Mariinsky International Piano Festival “Images of Contemporary Pianism” where he together with the Mariinsky Orchestra performed the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. He appeared in a series of Kawai concerts in Germany in 2020 and took part in the International Chopin Piano Festival in Darmstadt in 2023. Stanislav Korchagin performs his solo programs in the best concert halls in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other Russian cities and successfully combines his concert activity with engagement in teaching at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.
The concert will be held with the participation of the famous Russian orchestra – the National Symphonic Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the baton of Dmitry Kryukov.
