Well-known tenor Hovhannes Ayvazyan appears at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre

Tenor Hovhannes Ayvazyan, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia, a soloist of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Yerevan and a guest soloist of the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theatres, will debut at the Primorsky Stage in February.

On February 24, 2022 the soloist will appear as Canio in the legendary opera Pagliacci. This opera staged by the innovative theatre director Marat Gatsalov has recently been premiered at the Primorsky Stage. Ayvazyan's companions on the stage will be Alena Diyanova as Nedda, Marat Mukhametzyanov as Tonio, Dmitry Migulyov as Silvio, and Mingiyan Odzhaev as Beppe. The opera will be performed under the baton of Vitaly Shevelev. 

On February 26, 2022 Hovhannes Ayvazyan will appear as Radamès in Aida. This role of immense complexity is one of the singer's best parts, which he has performed at the Arena di Verona Festival (Italy), at the Mariinsky Theatre and the Polish National Opera (Warsaw). His companions on the stage will be Liliya Kadnikova as Aida, Laura Bustamante as Amneris, Dmitry Nelasov as Amonasro, Sergei Sevastyanov as Ramfis, and Anatoly Badayev as the Pharaoh. The baton will be held by Vitaly Shevelev.

Graduated from the State Conservatory of Yerevan, Hovhannes Ayvazyan has been a prizewinner at numerous vocal competitions. In 2013 he made his successful debut performing leading roles at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and continued to collaborate with them as a guest soloist. He has appeared at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (Italy), Oper Frankfurt, the Polish National Opera (Warsaw), Palm Beach Opera (Florida, USA), the Teatro Massimo Bellini (Catania, Sicily), the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow, the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan, and many others. He has taken part in performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Musikverein in Vienna and has sung at the opera gala concert at the Victoria Hall in Geneva. Hovhannes Ayvazyan collaborates with outstanding conductors and performers such as Valery Gergiev, Maria Gulegina and Anna Netrebko.
