On August 4, 2021 at 8.00 p.m. the great Opera Soloists Gala will be given as a part of the opera programme at the Mariinsky Festival in the Great Hall of the Primorsky Stage. Featured singers are guest stars and soloists of the Opera Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
They will perform arias and duets from operas by Gaetano Donizetti, Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, Charles Gounod, Camille Saint-Saëns, Mikhail Glinka, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The audience will also enjoy romances by Russian composers and Tarantella napoletana patter song by Gioachino Rossini.
The Gala Concert will feature coloratura soprano Albina Shagimuratova, a guest soloist at the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden and the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theatres, baritone Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar and mezzo-soprano Yulia Matochkina, prizewinners at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, tenor Gamid Abdulov, a fellow of the Atkins Young Artist Program at the Mariinsky Theatre, and other singers.
The Mariinsky Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage will be under the baton of Pavel Smelkov, Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
