Albina Shagimuratova appears at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre

Known worldwide, Albina Shagimuratova, a guest soprano soloist at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala and Covent Garden, will newly appear at the Primorsky Stage at the VI International Mariinsky Far East Festival, Vladivostok. She will take part in one opera and two concerts, singing compositions by Mozart, Verdi and other authors.

On August 1 Albina Shagimuratova will sing her trademark role of Violetta Valèry in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata. Her companions on the stage will be the famous baritone Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar as Giorgio Germont and the Primorsky Stage leading tenor Alexei Kostyuk as Alfredo. The orchestra is to be conducted by Pavel Smelkov, a Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage.

On July 31 the soprano star will take part in the symphonic concert in the Great Hall. She will solo in Mozart’s legendary motet Exsultate, Jubilate, KV 165. The final section Hallelujah is the most popular composition in sopranos’ repertoire. However, the whole motet is rarely sung at concerts since the vocal part is extremely sophisticated. Now the audience has an exceptional opportunity to hear the motet to be interpreted by the outstanding coloratura soprano Albina Shagimuratova at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

In the same evening Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 with Sergei Redkin as a solo pianist will be performed under the baton of Pavel Smelkov. The audience will also enjoy Franz Schubert’s Overture In the Italian Style and his Fifth Symphony.

On August 4 Albina Shagimuratova will sing on the great gala concert of opera soloists, in which guest singers (including Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, Yulia Matochkina, and Gamid Abdulov) and leading signers of the Primorsky Stage will take part.

The opera star Albina Shagimuratova has been rated among the best opera sopranos over the world. Impressed by her voice, one of the columnists of Opera News said that “it is a phenomenon that must be heard to be believed”. Albina Shagimuratova is always welcome at the Royal Opera, Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres or the Salzburg Festival in Austria. Her talent was often marked with the most prestigious awards including The Golden Mask, Casta Diva and Bravo. In 2017 Albina Shagimuratova was given the title of an Honored Artist of Russia.

The Primorsky Stage audience clapped the singer when she appeared as Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata or Marfa in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride and highly appreciated her voice during her previous visits in 2016 and 2017.
