Irina Soboleva is appointed to be an Artistic Director of the Opera Company of the Primorsky Stage
Irina Yurievna Soboleva, a leading concertmaster of the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, Honored Artist of Russia and recipient of the Medal of the Order For Services to the Fatherland, 1st class (2020), has been appointed to be an Artistic Director of the Opera Company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Having met with opera singers of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, Irina Soboleva told them about the Theatre plans approved by Valery Gergiev, General Director and Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theatre. Far East spectators expect to enjoy an extensive opera program and such ambitious additions to the Primorsky Stage repertoire as Boris Godunov by Modest Mussorgsky, Mazepa by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Ruslan and Lyudmila by Mikhail Glinka, The Idiot by Alexander Smelkov, and Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo.
Irina Soboleva believes that to realize the plans of maestro Valery Gergiev is the most important task for successful development and prosperity of the Primorsky Stage.
