In 1986–1991 studied at the Urals Mussorgsky State Conservatory (class of the Honoured Artist of Russia, Prof. S.V. Zaliznyak).

In 1991–1993 – worked as a soloist in the Sverdlovsk State Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy. In 1993–1995 - a soloist of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet State Theatre. From 1995 – a soloist of the Ekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

With the theatre company he went on tours to the USA, South Africa, Portugal, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey.

Yuri Devin participated in the International Music Festival in Abano Terme (Italy, 2006), where he performed the part of Giorgio Germont in the opera La traviata. He also took part in the International Rachmaninoff Music Festival in Almaty (Kazakhstan, 2007), the 12^th International Opera Festival “Shalyapin’s Evenings” in Ufa (2007). In 2006, he performed in South Korea together with the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan conducted by No Ta Chol and then in Genoa (Italy) with the folk group Ayuhka.

Yuri Devin collaborates with such Ekaterinburg ensembles as Rusichi, Ayushka, the V.A. Kopanev Domestic Chorus, the B-A-C-H Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Central Military District. He is a member of the jury at Ekaterinburg and Noyabrsk musical competitions and takes active part in Novosibirsk and Noyabrsk city musical events.
