SYNOPSIS

Passing by an ancient monastery, the Russian general left a captive boy in the care of the monks: the child refused food for a long time and weakened during the journey. The monks married the boy, he stayed in the monastery and became an mtsyri novice. Mtsyri was already supposed to become a monk, but one stormy night he ran away. Three days later, the monks found the wounded and exhausted young man and brought him to the monastery. It soon became clear that Mtsyri was dying. Before his death, he told the monk who raised him what he had experienced in freedom during those three days.
