Founded in 1935, the Central Music School is preparing to celebrate its 90th anniversary! In anticipation of the great event and to commemorate the Eastern Economic Forum, the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts is holding the Music Festival “Central Music School – 90: Moscow-Vladivostok” from September 3 to September 6, 2024. The programme will include concerts by recognized young musicians, prize-winners at major international competitions, as well as guided tours of the cultural and educational complex, and master classes by leading teachers of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts.

A concert at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre given by the brightest students of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts from Moscow and from its Primorsky Branch is going to become one of the cornerstone events of the Festival.

About the Festival

The Music Festival “Central Music School – 90: Moscow-Vladivostok” will be held to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Central Music School, which was founded in 1935.

The Festival will open on September 6, 2024 at 15:00 with a concert given by students of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts accompanied by the Mariinsky Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage conducted by Pavel Smelkov. The concert will take place in the Concert Hall of the Primorsky Branch of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts. A concert given by students of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts from Moscow and its Primorsky Branch at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will continue the programme of the anniversary Festival and will become one of its central events. The Festival will end on September 7, 2024 with a concert given by students of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts from Moscow and Vladivostok in the Concert Hall of the Primorsky Branch.

The programme of the Festival will also include tours of the unique cultural, educational and museum complex, which was put into operation in May 2023 on Russky Island. Also, open master classes by Deans of Faculties and Professors of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts (Moscow) will be held for young musicians and teachers.
