Vivid events at the Primorsy Stage in September 2021

The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre is happy to represent its September repertoire. The really eventful month is expected to be enjoyed by spectators.

On September 3, 2021 the world opera star Hibla Gerzmava, People’s Artist of Russia and Abkhazia, a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre, is to perform her solo program in the Great Hall of the Primorsky Stage as a part of the cultural program of the VI Eastern Economic Forum. She will sing some compositions by Giuseppe Verdi, Vincenzo Bellini, Francesco Cilea, Ruggero Leoncavallo, Reynaldo Hahn, Jules Massenet, and Ernesto De Curtis. The baton will be held by Valentin Uryupin, Principal Conductor of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow.

Another soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre – Najmiddin Mavlyanov, a guest soloist at the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres who has appeared several times at the Primorsky Stage – is coming again to Vladivostok to sing the key role of Calaf in Turandot on September 4, 2021. The baton will be held by Pavel Smelkov, Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage.

Devotees of the ballet will be able to enjoy a varied classic program. They are expected to see such ballet masterpieces as La Bayadère by Ludwig Minkus, Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and A Thousand and One Nights by Fikret Amirov, a colorful fairy-tale ballet of large scale recently premiered at the Primorsky Stage.

It is in the first autumn month that the audience of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre is to hear such favorite operas as Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride staged by Vyacheslav Starodubtsev, one of the most brilliant Russian stage directors, Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida, and Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus staged by Alexei Stepanyuk, Honored Artist of Russia.

On the September bill of the Chamber Hall of the Primorsky Stage there are four events including the Vocal Music Evening Shakespeare’s Sonnet, the Instrumental Music Evening Autumn Sonata and two Evenings of Operetta. The Mariinsky Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage will be conducted by Waleriy Trubin-Leonoff.
