Stars of the Mariinsky Theatre Olga Pudova, Kimin Kim and Yekaterina Osmolkina to Perform on the Primorsky Stage in November

The November repertoire of the Primorsky Stage will be adorned by the performances of the Mariinsky Theatre stars. On November 18, 2018, Olga Pudova will be singing in Die Zauberflöte opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and on November 22, 2018, Yekaterina Osmolkina and Kimin Kim will perform the main parts in The Sleeping Beauty ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

On November 18, 2018, the soloist of the Mariinsky Opera Olga Pudova will perform on the Primorsky Stage for the first time. The renowned singer will present to the public of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre one of the most difficult parts in the history of opera music, the part of Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte opera in the form of a Singspiel by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The artist has performed this part in the most famous theatres of the world: in 2013 she made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper, and subsequently she sang the role of Königin der Nacht at the Opéra de Paris, the Bayerische Staatsoper, Berlin’s Komische Oper, Turin’s Teatro Regio, La Fenice, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Flemish Opera, Opera Philadelphia and Opéra-Comique. Olga Pudova is the prize-winner at the Plácido Domingo’s Operalia, at the Competizione dell’Opera, and at the International Elena Obraztsova Competition. The singer was also awarded the Golden Sofit, St. Petersburg’s most prestigious theatre prize.

On November 22, 2018, the long-awaited return of Kimin Kim, the principal dancer of the Mariinsky Ballet, will take place on the Primorsky Stage. The outstanding dancer, the prize-winner at numerous international competitions, the winner of Rossiya-Kultura TV’s project Grand Ballet will perform the role of Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky (staging by Konstantin Sergeev and Eldar Aliev with major set pieces of Marius Petipa’s choreography retained). The part of Princess Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty, will be performed by the first soloist of the Mariinsky Ballet, Honoured Artist of Russia Yekaterina Osmolkina. The performance will be held in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the outstanding XIX century choreographer Marius Petipa.
