On August 4, 2018 (16:00) the all-star cast of the soloists of the Mariinsky Opera in the concert performance of the last opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Primary arias: Irina Churilova (Iolanta), Mikhail Petrenko (René, King of Provence), Aleksey Markov (Robert), Nazhmiddin Mavlyanov (Count Vaudémont), Roman Burdenko (Ibn-Hakia) and the Ensemble of the Soloists of the Academy of Young Opera Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre. The Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev.
The audience of the Primorsky Stage has already been acquainted with Iolanta opera performed by the star soloists. On April 8, 2017, the opening day of the XVII Moscow Easter Festival the opera was performed accompanied by the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. At the Chamber Hall of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre as well as in many largest regions of Russia participating in the All-Russia Virtual Concert Hall project the event was broadcast live and was a great success.
As a reminder, on the same day – August 4, 2018 (20:00) the leading soloists of the opera company, Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra are performing again at the Primorsky Stage – Salome, one-act opera by Richard Strauss (concert performance).
