Don Quichotte opera premiere performed by the soloists of the Mariinsky Opera and Academy of Young Opera Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre – at the III International Mariinsky Far East Festival, Vladivostok

On July 31 and August 6, 2018 (19:00) the Great Hall of the Primorsky Stage will see two performances of Don Quichotte opera by Jules Massenet, staged by Yannis Kokkos, the recognized opera production classic. The performance filled with Spanish flavor and carnival atmosphere, the decorations in the shadow play style to emphasize the author’s idea of the simultaneous existence of the real world and dream world.

The primary arias will be performed by the soloists of the Mariinsky Opera: Yulia Matochkina (The beautiful Dulcinea), Yuri Vorobiev (Don Quichotte), Andrey Serov (Sancho Panza), Lyudmila Dudinova (Pedro (travesti)), Andrey Ilyushnikov (Rodriguez); and the soloists of the Academy of Young Opera Singers Evelina Agabalaeva (Garcias (travesti)) and Dmitry Koleushko (Juan). The Ensemble of the Academy of Young Opera Singers of the Mariinsky Theatre also appears in the performance. Conducted by Christian Knapp (USA).
