Tatiana Makarchuk has successfully performed on stage of Mariinsky-2 in St Petersburg

On 11 March, the Primorsky Stage opera soloist Tatiana Makarchuk successfully debuted in the Mariinsky Theatre’s production of Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen. Conductor — Christian Knapp (USA).

Tatiana Makarchuk graduated from the Gnessin State Musical College and the Galina Vishnevskaya Centre for Opera Singing. Her role debut as Carmen took place at the Natalya Sats Musical Theatre in Moscow in 2012. In the following season, she performed the same part in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, (Dublin, 2013). She also successfully appears as Carmen at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, having enthralled the audience with her interpretation of the role on the very first night of the production.

The singer’s performance at Mariinsky-2 continues a series of St Petersburg debuts by the Primorsky Stage opera soloists. In April 2017, the Primorsky Stage soloist Elena Stikhina joined the opera company of the Mariinsky Theatre. Last November, leading parts in the performances of the Mariinsky Theatre were sung by soprano Guzel Sharipova (Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi) and Alena Diyanova (Der fliegende Holländer by Richard Wagner). In February 2018, Aigul Khismatullina, a participant of the international educational project The Atkins Young Artists Program, made her debut at the Historic Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, performing the title part in Igor Stravinsky’s Opera The Nightingale.
