An exhibition dedicated to March 8 opens at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre

On 7 March at 18:30 the exhibition Spring at the Mariinsky will open in the Dress Circle Foyer of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre before the beginning of the opera The Love for Three Oranges. The exhibits include paintings and graphics from the collection of the Primorsky State Art Gallery (The Hermitage — Vladivostok). The exhibition will last till May 11.

Spring at the Mariinsky encompasses works by sixteen artists, among them are worthy successors to the Moscow School — Sergei Balzamov (Lilac), Mikhail Kugach (A Sprig of an Apple Tree); it is impossible to remain untouched by Mikael Avetov’s refined Renoirian portrayal of a woman (A Portrait of the Wife). The exhibition also features works by such Primorsky artists as Anatoly Teleshev, Nikolay Gritsuk, Yuri Sobchenko, Anatoly Matyukhin, Mikhail Tabolkin, Valentina Chebotareva, Viktor and Ludmila Ubirayev, Pyotr Luzgin and Lev Aronov.

The Spring in Mariinsky Project is the third joint project which has been organized as part of a continuing collaboration between the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre and the Primorsky State Art Gallery (The Hermitage-Vladivostok) since the beginning of 2018.

A series of festive events at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will be continued with spectacular performances — an evening of old and modern choreography The Firebird (March 8), ballet-féerie The Nutcracker (March 10 at 14-00 and 19-00), interactive operatic productions Christmas Eve (March 9) and The Magic Flute (March 11).
