Vladislav Sulimsky will star in Rigoletto at the Primorsky Stage

On 3 September the Primorsky Stage audience will for the first time hear the Primorsky Stage soloist, brilliant baritone Vladislav Sulimsky perform the leading part in Giuseppe Verdi’s most celebrated opera Rigoletto.

Vladislav Sulimsky has performed at the Primorsky Stage on many occasions, having attracted attention of the audience during his first visit to Vladivostok last September. At that time the singer appeared as Alberich in the concert performance of Richard Wagner’s Das Rheingold together with the Mariinsky soloists and Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev. In January 2017, the singer enthralled the Primorsky audience with his outstanding performance of the title part in the premiere of David McVicar’s production of Macbeth by Giuseppe Verdi. Next time the Far East audiences could hear the artist at the Primorsky Stage as part of the II International Mariinsky Far East Festival, during which Vladislav Sulimsky sang the parts of main characters in two Verdi’s masterpieces — the premiere of the opera Simon Boccanegra and Macbeth.

On 3 September the singer will make his Vladivostok debut as Rigoletto — one of the most challenging parts in the baritone repertoire. The part of the Count will be performed by the Mariinsky Theatre soloist, multiple award-winner and fellow at Atkins Young Artists Program, tenor Alexander Mikhailov, for whom it will be his role debut. The part of Gilda will be sung by the Primorsky Stage soloist Guzel Sharipova.

The leading part will be again sung by Vladislav Sulimsky. He will be partnered by the Mariinsky lead soloists: the Honoured Artist of Russia and Grammy Award winner, soprano Tatiana Pavlovskaya and international awards winner, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, bass Stanislav Trofimov.

The September playbill will open with Charles Roubaud’s sumptuous production of another Verdi’s masterpiece — La traviata (September 1).The part of Violetta Valery will be for the first time performed by the Primorsky Stage soloist and guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, prize-winner at many vocal competitions Anastasiya Kikot.
