On 05:30 p.m. March 17, the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will host a press conference on the premiere performances of the War and Peace opera to the music of Sergei Prokofiev based on the novel of the same name by Lev Tolstoy.
The opera was directed by Kristina Larina who performed the author’s version of this play in 2016 in St Petersburg at the Mariinsky Concert Hall. The rapid development of the storyline captivates the viewer, transferring the action from “Peace” to “War”.
Premiere performances of the War and Peace will take place on March 20 to 22 at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre under the direction of Pavel Smelkov, Principal Conductor of the Primorsky Stage. The parts will be sung by the joint team of soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre and the Primorsky Stage: Yekaterina Goncharova, Efim Zavalny, Maria Suzdaltseva, Alexei Bublik, Laura Bustamante, Tatiana Makarchuk, Larisa Diadkova, Irina Kolodyazhnaya, Alexander Morozov, Alexander Diyanov, Alexei Smirnov, Roman Krukovich, Mergen Sandanov, Alexei Kostyuk, Vyacheslav Vasilyev, Marat Mukhametzyanov, Yuri Vlasov and others.
